Why does consistency matter in a phone survey?

Human interviewers unconsciously vary wording, emphasis and follow-up, and that variation shows up in the results. Holding delivery constant removes one source of error. It does not remove sampling bias, non-response bias, or a badly worded question — an agent asks your bad question perfectly consistently.

Can respondents answer in their own words?

Yes. Open-ended responses are transcribed and retained alongside the structured fields, so you keep the verbatim while still being able to count the closed answers.

How are results exported?

Structured responses are emitted over webhooks per completed call and can be written to any system that accepts an HTTP callback, alongside the recording and transcript.

Scope, limitations, and sources

Consistent delivery reduces interviewer variance but does not address sampling bias, non-response bias, or question design, all of which dominate survey error.
